I am seriously considering taking my 14 year old son out of school due to bullying issues which have been going on way too long and which the school seems reluctant to acknowledge, even the Head refuses to speak to me about it! I have had enough of the education system. I have been researching home ed and the more I read the more senisble a solution it seems.
I hope you all will appreciate my educational site on the subject of Rampless Egyptian Pyramid constructions at Saqqara and Giza.
This is a serious study and there is plenty of information freely given without you having to purchase the book.
The Media page answers some questions sent to me.

just come back from hesfes 2009 and googling to see what other home-ed camps and festivals are happening this summer. one of the great things about home-ed is that you can go right back to first principles and ask yourselves: what do we need to know? what do we want to learn? how best can we do that? and then take it from there. best of luck everyone.

I am reluctantly having to consider home educating my son. He has not been allocated a place at secondary school and we are still going through the wretched waiting list and appeals process. Home education is something that may become a reality for us - huge sacrifice but my son and his education will come first and foremost. If anyone has any advice or words of encouragement for this incredibly daunting field -please feel free!!!

I was surprised to see that there are other parents with children aged 11+ are considering home education. Why have we put up with the awful school situation for so long?
I need advice and I need to do the right thing for my son, that's why I came to this site......

Hi
I am wanting to home school to. the difference is my 9 year old teaches me and I learn from him! He is classed as ASD and yes is definitely dyslexic currently with a statement of 25 hours.
Its odd but I definitely feel he teaches me how to teach him to learn. He being such a visual learner I would also like to spend YEar 6 travelling with him long distance and then intergrate in year 7 ( I may loose his statement if I take him out of school) and that is a big worry ..
He loves hooking up with people and is full on.. anyone have an opinion on this move?

Hi, I have been very dissapointed in both my childrens schools for a long time and am currently extremely let down by my son\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s (age 11) senior school. Am considering taking him out of school and home tutoring but would need lots of advise and contact with other home educators.

I am planning on teaching my 11 year old daughter in September at Secondary level. Having been discouraged by her current school (the teachers clearly think I have lost my marbles!!) and our LEA I have been feeling rather daunted! But your site has helped me feel much more confident about our decision & has given me lots of ideas. Thankyou.

Great web site! I have an 11 year old who is about to be removed from school. We have done it once before at the end of primary, when everything went terribly wrong, but thought we'd have a crack at secondary! Had the crack, bad idea and back to what we know works. Really impressed with the range of stuff you have one offer - come to Devon!
